The Benefits of Buying New
Considering a new home vs. a resale home? From design to availability, here are a few things to weigh.
Exceptional Finishes From Day One
With RM Homes, Exceptional Finishes are our Standard. This means that our new homes come complete with designer-selected finishes that are installed for you on day one of living in your home. These are finishes that are carefully selected to ensure you will enjoy your home for years to come.
With a resale home, you will probably find yourself planning updates before you even move in. In a new home, you get all the finishes you’re looking for – things like slab quartz countertops, extensive tile throughout, stainless steel appliances, gas cooking, gas fireplace, engineered hardwoods, plush carpet and more.
The latest Smart Home features are also built in, like Deako Smart Switches, Nest Learning Thermostat and a touchless kitchen faucet.
It’s also worth considering all the things you can’t see too, features that will save you money like energy-rated windows and insulation, a brand new roof, a gas furnace, a tankless gas water heater and low maintenance Hardie panel or board siding.
Buy Ahead, Increase Your Choices
Unlike a resale home, upgraded add-on features can be rolled into the price of your home and your mortgage payments, and the features can be installed before you move in. With RM Homes, common upgrades include the refrigerator, washer/dryer, backyard fence and air conditioning.
It’s also worth keeping in mind that if you buy early in one of our upcoming communities, you can sometimes also choose your color scheme and include other upgrades like painted cabinets and kitchen backsplash.
Everything is Brand New!
When you buy a new home, everything in the home is new. Seems redundant, but it’s worth repeating. With today’s health and safety concerns, this is more important than ever. Not only is everything new, but it’s also sparkling clean for you on move-in.
Once construction is complete on a home, it is given an initial clean, followed by a final deep clean just before you get the keys. Compare this to buying a home that is currently lived in, and think about the typical chaos of moving out of a home. You would have to clean the new home before you can really occupy it. Not with a brand new home – our homes are truly sparkling clean and move in ready for you. You won’t have to come in and paint dingy walls, clean crumbs out of drawers or mop behind the stove. You won’t even have to wipe a countertop.
New Home Warranty
A new home from RM Homes includes a warranty. Your new home will be kept free from defects in workmanship for up to one year and structural defects for up to 10 years.
In addition, many of your new appliances and other home features come with their own manufacturer warranty. Buying all new assures you won’t have unexpected repair expenses right after you move in.
Easy to Tour, Easy to Buy
Today’s tight inventory market is posing a challenge for buyers. More than half of Redfin offers saw competing bids on their home of choice in June. We can’t guarantee that you won’t see a competing offer on a home with RM Homes. But with our variety of move-in ready and upcoming homes, we simply have more for you to choose from today.
Our homes could not be easier to tour. They are clean and vacant, and they have a sanitation station just inside the front door with hand san, masks and more for your safety. Available move-in ready homes are available for Self Tour – tour on your own, when you want. Guided one-on-one showings are available with our helpful community sales managers who can answer all your questions about home features, the community and the neighborhood. Vacant move-in ready homes are also on keybox so you can tour with your broker.
Resale homes are usually currently occupied, so when you want to tour you will have to schedule around an existing homeowner or renter. Brand new homes are vacant, sparkling clean, and ready for your tour any time.
Get All the Details
When you’re shopping for a new home, you’ll find many resources online about the home. If you want to start your tour online, with our new homes you can typically find floorplans, walk-through videos, 3D video tours and model home photos. We also often have photos of each exact home once it is move-in ready.
